Cameo Carolan has been an educator at NPHS for 23 years. An alumna of both Bobbie’s School of Perorming Arts and TOHS, including being a 4 year dance team member. She was a professional tap dancer touring with Tapsounds Underground and worked commercially. She holds a Master’s degree in Cross-Cultural Education. In addition to her teaching career, she has served as an instructor and judge for the United Spirit Association. Cameo’s dedication to dance education has been recognized through multiple accolades, including being named the 2007-2008 CADTD Director of the Year and the 2016 CVUSD Teacher of the Month. She is passionate about fostering a love for dance and the arts within the community, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to explore their creativity. She takes pride in developing courses at NPHS that celebrate diversity in the arts.
Mia Clark is a dancer and choreographer, from Newbury Park, California, who has trained in dance for 20+ years. She began her training at Bobbie’s School of Performing Arts and eventually joined her high school’s dance team. She continued her dance studies at California State University, Long Beach where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Mia trained in Geometry Contemporary Dance Company, directed by Mackenzie Martin, and has performed with the company at World of Dance. She is a coach of the dance team at Newbury Park High School and is one of the three Elite coaches at Dance Alliance of Camarillo. Mia has always been passionate about creativity and fun in dance and hopes to continue to bring these qualities to the spaces and students she teaches.
Julia Chesson is a seasoned dancer and choreographer with over 17 years of experience in the industry. She began her training as a competitive dancer at Simi Dance Center and was a member of Royal High School dance team. Currently signed with Go 2 Talent Agency, she also works as a model with O Models Agency. In addition to teaching at both BSPA and the high school level, Julia continues to perform professionally. Her career highlights include appearances at high-profile events such as the Official GRAMMYs After Party and a Super Bowl Event, as well as collaborations with major brands like Nintendo. While actively pursuing her professional career, Julia is deeply passionate about choreography and dance education.
